Imagining the World of Ezekiel

Imagining the World of Ezekiel

FAITH TALK…with Danny Dodd

No matter what happens on Saturday—Sundays are always about victory! Jesus rose from the grave on a Sunday! We are here to celebrate that—the greatest triumph of all. All of our hope is anchored in that tremendous event. It is the foundation of why we offer up our praise to the Father. Thank you for bringing your heart into this praise with us today.

Please welcome Jacob and Audrey Robertson to Levy. We are delighted to welcome this young couple to our church family. Please personally greet them and extend your welcome. Pray for them also.

I keep reminding you of Sunday, October 7, in hopes that you will make that a priority Sunday. Not only will we kick off all of our Harvest Month Sunday activities on that day, but we will also welcome Cecil and Patti May to Levy as Cecil begins his work with us. We have a wonderful meet-and-greet reception planned on our lobby right after worship with light refreshments—perfect for you to stop by, meet them and personally welcome them to Levy. I am excited about Cecil’s ministry here in the areas of adult education, our hospitality ministry, Sunday night worship and with our senior saints. Please continue to pray for them.

Speaking of welcome new ministers, I am pleased to announce that our own Joe Chesser has agreed to come onto our ministry staff as our family life minister. Joe has years of ministry experience behind him, the latest being as youth minister at the Windsong congregation. He, Sherry and their children Max and Alex have been a part of Levy now for over three years. Joe’s focus in his ministry will be small groups, young adults and the Congregational Encouragement Ministry. Pray for Joe as he transitions soon into this ministry role. Her first Sunday in his new ministry role will be November 11.

Last week, David Fletcher expressed to me not only his appreciation about our emphasis on daily Bible reading this year, but also how much he has grown through the process. Others have also expressed similar sentiments. That is what “Thy Word” can do! Blessings flow when we spend this kind of time with God. I hope you are having the same experience as David.

What a beautiful bench just inside the doors in our south foyer. It is memory of our dear Suzanne Dillard. It makes me smile—just like Suzy did!

Have a great week with the Lord. I love you church!
