It is the Lord’s Day. It is praise day! It is worship day! It is church day! It is the day to be together with God’s people to honor and glorify him! It is the day to enjoy sweet fellowship; sweeter communion and express the joy of the Lord. It is a thanksgiving day also—thankful for you worshipping with us. “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!” (Psalm 118:24)
It is also Vacation Bible School Day! All of the fun and activities get started this afternoon under the pavilion at 5:00 and continue through Wednesday night. Come and join the focus on Daniel as we all Journey through Babylon. Adults—you are included too! Clay Smith will be teaching an adult class each night. VBS is a blessing! Help us boost our Bible school!
Our youth group will be involved in our VBS. Summer is a busy time for them: mission trips; service activities; Impact at Lipscomb University in Nashville; camps; and other activities are all on the summer schedule. Pray for our kids!
Kijana Royal reports that while we are making great progress on getting updated photos for our pictorial directory—we still have numerous folks who have not yet paused for a picture. Don’t be shy! Please stop for a minute and smile for the camera. We greatly appreciate it. Kijana and our photographer, Elise Gibson, are set up in the north foyer.
If you have not noticed, a new senior housing duplex is being constructed next to the Levy church office. This will provide more needed housing for our senior saints. Appreciation is given to Dick Gardner for overseeing this project.
This week our “Thy Word” reading is, in part, from the prophet Jeremiah. His word from the Lord included numerous warnings about the consequences of ignoring the will of God. We live in a totally different context, but the warnings are just as compelling. Let’s take heed!
One of our newest shepherds, Danny Sullivan, is preaching today. I look forward to his message.
Have a week for the Lord—pray, encourage, invite, engage for Christ all week long.
I love you church!
