FAITH TALK

with Danny Dodd

Happy Labor Day weekend! The happiest part of it is being able to worship God with his family. Thank you for taking time out of your holiday to gather with the Levy family. Your presence is a blessing and a joy!

As this is a travel-heavy holiday, please pray for everyone on the road. Many in our youth group are away today participating in the area-wide Refresh Retreat. I am away today visiting in-laws in north-central Arkansas. Several others are gone as well. Please pray for travel mercies.

Danny Sullivan is preaching today in my absence. Of course, Danny does a fantastic job each month presenting God’s Word. We are blessed through his gifts. Pray for him also.

Our new connecting minister, Cecil May III and his wife Patti will be here on October 1st. They will be moving into our senior housing temporarily while they sell their house in Kentucky and search for a home here (please pray for that process). Patti will be commuting during this time of transition. We plan to formerly welcome them on Sunday, October 7th, with a meet-and-greet reception in our lobby after worship that morning. I hope you will plan to be here. We are excited about their arrival and Cecil’s work here. We also continue to seek God’s guidance in searching for our family life minister. Please continue to pray with us about all of this. Thank you.

October is also Harvest Month! It is always a great month for us at Levy and I am sure that our mission committee has great plans in store for us. I am looking forward to it!

Everyone is invited to join us on Wednesday nights in the auditorium for Bible class. I will again be teaching and we will continue our focus on our daily Bible reading texts. I continue to hear positive feedback two/thirds of the way through this process. “Thy Word” is blessing and challenging us all!

Our Sunday night group at the building also starts a new study tonight—“Building Up One Another.” Our own Hugh Hale starts things off with the topic of “Members One of Another” from Romans 12:5.

New members and anyone interested in knowing more about the Levy church and how to plug into our ministries—don’t forget next Sunday (September 9th) is our Learning Levy orientation class.

I love you church!
