Happy Memorial Weekend! We celebrate a memorial each Sunday as we worship God together. Our precious communion time is a memorial to the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We not only commune to remember but also to anticipate his coming again. It is the old rugged cross and empty tomb that informs and empowers everything we do and hope for as disciples of Christ. So happy memorial Sunday!
Please pray for the Levites traveling this weekend. Summer has started and so has travel. One big trip beginning tomorrow is our youth group mission trip to the Dominican Republic. A large group of Levy teens and adults are headed to work with Manna Global ministries. Please pray for them every day—for their travel safety and the good work they will do in sharing Christ while there. Other Levite mission trips (that I am aware of) later in the summer are to Haiti and Lithuania. I praise God for the mission heart of this church!
We welcome our summer interns today. Working with Sierra Gufstason in our children’s ministry will be David Savage, a senior at Harding from Huntsville, AL and Bethany Simmons, a junior at Harding from Charlotte, NC. Working with Jesse Stacy and Rachel Griffith in our youth ministry is our own Noah Delashaw, a senior at AR Tech; Marlie Prince, a junior at Harding from NLR; Laken Reddell, a junior at Harding from Jonesboro; and Tyler Vesperman, a junior at Harding from College Station, TX. Please be sure to personally welcome them to Levy and pray for their work with our kids.
Speaking of working with our kids—our VBS begins soon (June 10-13). This is always an exciting event! Be praying and be inviting others to join us.
The Levy Christian Kindergarten has built a long-standing tradition of excellence here for many, many years. Numerous children and their families have been blessed through this Montessori school. Currently there is an opening for a teacher to serve in this ministry. If you are interested, please contact the church office.
Your chance for new pictorial pictures will continue in June. If you have not done this—please stop by and Kijana Royal will assist you.
Don’t forget to honor God wherever your summer travels take you! Don’t neglect “Thy Word,” prayer and worship while away!
I love you church!
