FAITH TALK – with Danny Dodd
“I thank my God every time I remember you.” Is it okay if I borrow from the apostle Paul in Philippians 1:3 (from our Bible reading last week) and apply it to you? I do thank God for my Levy family. I thank God for your heart for worship; for you being here today prioritizing praise over everything else; and I thank God that through the grace and mercy of Christ Jesus we can be united in him. Count your many blessings and thank God with me!
This week our Wednesday summer series speaker is James Gentry from the 15th Street congregation here in North Little Rock. His message is on “Restoration.” Come and join us!
“The gospel in a word is love”—so goes the song lyric. So goes the Bible as well:
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples. (1 John 13-34-35)
If I have faith that can move mountains but have not love, I am nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:2)
Love must be sincere… Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. (Romans 12:9-10)
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth. (1 John 3:18)
But I tell you: Love your enemies. (Matthew 5:44)
Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so you that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart. (1 Peter 1:22)
The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. (Galatians 5:6)
Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. (1 Corinthians 8:1)
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. (Romans 13:8)
Above all, love one another deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8)
The entire law is summed up in a single command: Love your neighbor as yourself. (Galatians 5:6)
And now these three remain, faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)
I love you church! Have an outstanding week serving and sharing the Lord!
