Praising God! That is what worship is all about—giving praise and thanksgiving to our wonderful and awesome God. Through Christ we have the weekly opportunity to gather together as his family to lift the Name of the Father above all names. It is an essential and central practice of those who follow Jesus in faith. Thank you for expressing your faith in worshipping with us today. I am praising God for you!
We love new faces and families at Levy! We try to do all that we can to make our guests feel welcomed and valued—encouraging them to become a part of our church family. Today we celebrate them with two great events. First is our Learning Levy class, which is an orientation session for new members and those seeking to know more about our Levy family. It meets at 9 a.m. in the family room within the Ministry Center. Second is our Welcome Luncheon after worship—again in the Ministry Center. This gathering is about terrific fellowship around a good meal with new members and Levy leadership. We encourage all of our new members to participate in both, if you have not. Cecil May is the contact person for both.
Of course we love our longer tenured Levy families and praise God for you, your encouragement in the faith and service in the kingdom. Thank you.
We need your feedback. We are considering moving up the start time for our Wednesday night classes to 6:30 instead of 7:00. Our Wednesday night classes continue to suffer from declining attendance. Perhaps our families with small children would benefit from such a time shift—so we would like to hear back from you. This would begin in January. Share your thoughts with me, any of our ministers, staff or elders. Thanks!
Also coming in January on Wednesday nights—Alan and Sherry Pogue will be leading a Parenting Seminar (starting on January 16). This has been oft requested and we are greatly excited about it. Plan now to be a part of it!
I remain excited about our future at Levy. God has richly blessed us with numerous resources and hearts for service and outreach. Just imagine what God could accomplish in us if we all dedicated ourselves to seeking first the kingdom, fully engaging the kingdom with our gifts and plugging in unselfishly here at Levy. It would be incredible. This is my prayer and hope.
