“The splendor of a King clothed in majesty, let all the earth rejoice…He wraps himself in light, and darkness tries to hide, and trembles at His voice…how GREAT is our God!” So begins the popular worship song with it’s nod to the opening lines of Psalm 104. Read the entire chapter and be reminded when God the creator puts his best on display, we’ve got no other appropriate option but to praise him. I’m reminded of that especially after spring break weeks like this one! I hope you got to get outside this week and soak up some of it. The song’s author goes on to remind us to “sing with me, how great is our God, and all will see how great, how great, is our God.” The world is watching. The church is watching. Our children are watching. Let’s praise God together this morning in a way that leaves no room for doubt about what we think of our great God!
The office has been rather quiet this week with most everyone gone at least a day or two taking advantage of spring break. Unfortunately for them, this has been one of the nicest weeks we’ve had in central Arkansas for quite some time. With so many gone this past week, we were all blessed to have Cecil deliver the message on Sunday. He did a fantastic job reminding us of the importance and value of being counted among the saved. Having said that, did you remember to fill out your Member card this morning?
Looking forward to next Sunday, March 31st, we have a full slate of events. During the Bible class hour the Levy staff will help attach some faces to the budget you generously give to each week in a presentation we’re calling “Stories Beyond the Numbers.” Please join us for a more personal look into how your weekly contribution is making a lasting impact in the lives of the people we work with each day.
Also, following morning services next week, there are two different groups gathering for lunch and ministry meetings. Cecil, our Connections Minister, is leading those connected with our Greeting Ministry in an effort to help our guests begin their visit to Levy with as warm a welcome as possible. If you feel this is an area in which you need to be serving, contact Cecil and let him know you’d like to help make Levy a place where our guests feel at home. Another group meeting next week is our small group leaders. Vital to the health of the Levy body, our small groups help cultivate a deeper sense of community. As the minister working with our small groups I hope to encourage our groups leaders and foster a renewed effort to keep our groups thriving and beneficial to the greater body here at Levy.
Speaking of small groups, has your family plugged into a group yet? Would you like to? Levy has several small groups that meet in a variety of locations including homes and at the building each Sunday evening. We are also in the process of forming new groups as well. If you have any questions or would like more information on small groups, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
As always, Levy is a church full of opportunities to learn, be encouraged, find ways to plug in, and serve. I hope spring break was a blessing to your family and lifted your spirits. Welcome home to those who were traveling.
