FAMILY TALK
with Danny Dodd
It is not just another summer Sunday. It is the day we have the wonderful privilege to gather together as God’s family to join our hearts and voices to honor and praise him! What an incredible blessing! Your presence just enhances the joy. Thank you for worshipping with us.
Tonight we honor some very special folks to Levy–Alan and Sherry Pogue. They will soon be leaving us after 21 years of dedicated service here to bless others across the globe through their Restored and Renewed Ministry in France. Words truly are inadequate to express the difference they both have made in so many lives here. We love them and will miss them greatly. Please join us tonight in the Ministry Center at five to honor them.
We rejoiced with the angels as Sloan Smith was baptized last week during VBS by her uncle, Philip Sherril. Of course we celebrate with parents Joel and Jennifer. Please pray for Sloan as she grows in Christ.
During the summer our youth ministry stays on full throttle. I appreciate Rachel Griffith, Jesse Stacy and our intern’s energy and dedication. It is Impact season, which means both our junior and senior high groups are making trips to Lipscomb University in Nashville to participate in this camp on that campus. Please keep them in your prayers.
Next Sunday, June 23, we will again host an unsheltered family in the BOB for a week in partnership with the Family Promise ministry. Thanks goes to Mark and Dianna Deal for both their passion and leadership in this effort. Please see either of them if you would like to volunteer to help.
Congratulations to Ted and Allison Bowsman for being recognized as 2019 Foster Parents of the Year in Area 5 by the Arkansas Department of Human Services. Of course we have to mention that they could not do this alone and congratulate Madi and Paxton as well! We are proud of you and your heart for others!
Our Wednesday night summer series resumes this week on June 19. Our guest is Gary Kirkendall. He is from LaGrange, GA and is the Executive Director for the Living Hope for Honduras Mission. He is also a good friend of both Cecil May and me–all of us in college together. Gary is a very engaging speaker–so please make plans to be here. His topic is “Stop Passing Judgment on One Another.”
Happy Father’s Day! We appreciate all of our dads. God bless you!
I love you church!
