Faith Talk

How great is it to have a church family! Together we worship. Together we serve. Together we support, love and encourage. Together we welcome others to join us. Together we celebrate the Christ who is our head and through whom we are bound together in grace. In our Levy family there is always room for more! Thank you for praising our God with us! Your presence is our blessing.
Praise God! Everyone please pray for and encourage Rachel Hawkins who was baptized into Christ Wednesday night by Jesse Stacy. Pray for her family also.
And we are excited to welcome more into our church family. Last Sunday we welcomed David and Mary Sullivan along with their children Anne Ellice and Tripp to Levy. Today we are delighted to welcome Lynne Underwood and her nephew Solomon. Please make an extra effort to personally greet them. We need everyone involved in encouraging our new members so that they, too, can feel like family.
Speaking of new members, our Learning Levy class meets at 9 a.m. this morning in the family room within the Ministry Center. It is for our newest members and anyone interested in learning more about our church. Tom and Susan Cloninger are leading this class. It is a great way to learn about how to get plugged into our various ministries.
Please keep praying for our sister, Phyllis Verdell, as she requested last Sunday. I appreciate her heart and her love for Christ.
Thanks to everyone who has participated in our Community Building Back to School Blitz. Many volunteers helped with packing backpacks and handing them out last Sunday, as well as the event at Ridgeroad School. More opportunities to serve are happening tonight and tomorrow night. Thanks Levy for your servant heart!
Part of our back to school focus is our annual Blessing of the Backpack, which is Sunday, August 26. It is time now to sign up to be a backpack buddy. This is indeed a blessing for both the buddy and the student—a wonderful way to encourage a young person all during the school year. So sign up today!
Our guest for this Wednesday night summer series is Dr. Loyd Harris from the McAlmont congregation here in North Little Rock. Loyd is no stranger to us and we welcome him back to Levy. His topic is “We are Today What We Never Could Have Been Before.” Please join us at 7 p.m.
Have an intentional week—purposefully choose to share Christ and invite someone to worship with you. It could literally change someone’s life.
I love you church!
