FAITH TALK
with Danny DoddIt is another wonderful Sunday to praise God together! As always we appreciate your presence. Worshipping God as his family is quite a blessing. Thank for you arranging your Sunday to be with us.
Many Levites are away from us today at Winterfest in Gatlinburg, TN. This youth event is a major highlight of the yearly calendar and brings together over 10,000 folks from all over the nation. Our group will be travelling back today. Please pray for their safe return.
Two big Levy events are occurring this week. First up is our adult education teacher appreciation banquet on Thursday night, February 21 at 6 in the Upper Room. This is for all of Levy’s past and present adult class teachers (need to RSVP). It will also be a special occasion to honor John Miller, who recently retired from teaching after 56 years. Wow! What a tremendous example of dedicated service! Please contact Cecil May to RSVP.
Then on Saturday night, February 23 at 5 in the Ministry Center, all men are invited to our annual Men’s Wild Night Out to enjoy fellowship and some wild game cuisine. This is always a great occasion! Mark Vest is the contact person.
Looking a little further ahead, we will be blessed by hosting the Harding University Chorus on Sunday, March 3. They will be performing in the auditorium during our Bible class hour. Thanks goes to Garren Barker for making this happen. It will be a delight to hear these young people sing!
On the following Sunday, March 10, former Levy youth minister Casey Rine will be our guest presenter. Casey (who currently is serving as youth minister at the Landmark congregation in Montgomery, AL) will be here to speak—ten years after—about his sister’s tragic death, his appreciation for how Levy supported him through that time, and the blessings that have resulted from that. Danny Sullivan will also be participating together with Casey. It should be a special Sunday.
Speaking of adult classes-the Wednesday night parenting seminar with Alan and Sherry Pogue continues! It is not too late to join in—each Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Upper Room.
One way we can serve others is through our hospitality ministry. We are always in need for more greeters and ushers. Cecil May along with Andy Gibson and Alexander Wilson work in these ministry areas. Volunteer and help make their day, along with those you will be serving!
I love you church!
