It is praise day! I am so excited to be able to worship God together with you. What a tremendous way to start the week. Thank you for being here and making worship a priority. God bless you and God bless our worship this morning!
It was a joy for me to spend some time with our youth group last week during the Winterfest trip. I am encouraged by the faith I see in our young people. Please encourage them all you can. They are not only the church of the future; they are the church now. Several more of our teens are away again this morning at Christeens—a youth rally in Russellville, AR. Pray for them as they travel, please.
All new members are asked to attend our monthly Learning Levy class next Sunday, March 4th at 9 a.m. in the family room within the Ministry Center. This class is designed to assist anyone seeking to know more about our church family. If you have never attended—go check it out. You will learn how to get better plugged into our ministries.
And we need more people plugged in! We greatly need more teachers in our children’s classes; we need more greeters; we need more men willing to assume the wonderful responsibilities of shepherding; we need more Levites bringing people to worship with them. There is always a constant need in the kingdom for more servants. So we invite you to use your gifts to serve with us. As Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few” (Luke 10:2). We need more workers!
We have a Levy Facebook page dedicated to our 2018 Bible daily reading. It is a place where questions can be asked. Here is what I posted last week: “One thing to remember when reading. We are reading history–divine history for sure–but history from long gone cultures recorded in ancient languages. We have terrific scholarship and resources available today in translating these languages as accurately as possible, but even so challenges in certain texts remain. The good news is, even with that, just consider how the overall narrative of Scripture flows from the Old Testament to the New. It is quite amazing to consider how all these stories within all these writings over all those generations in different cultural contexts connect so well to tell the same Story. Only by God’s hand could this happen.”
Do you take advantage of our Bible study opportunities on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays? If not, why not? Make the extra effort. It is well worth it in terms of encouraging fellowship and learning more about Thy Word!
I love you church!
